Sightseeing Tour in KathmanduAfter breakfast, sightseeing tour around some of the attractive world heritage sites within Kathmandu valley. Also, today we will complete all the necessary paper works and other preparations required for Mera Peak
Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2800m), Trek to ChhuthangBreakfast at hotel, we will be transferred to domestic airport for a scenic flight to Lukla also known as Tenzing-Hillary Airport. After landing at the airstrip of Lukla, we start our trails by heading east and passing along several hamlets and wooden yards. Our trek continues through forest filled of rhododendron, pines, oaks and birch trees. We will follow the trail that goes on the hillside below Kalo Himal ridge.
Hike Chhuthang to Tuli Kharka (4100m) via Zatrawala PassToday we leave Chhuthang and follow the trail that is a gradually ascend and then much steeper climb for the crossing of Zatrawala Pass. After arriving at the top of the pass we are rewarded with magnificent views of Numbur Himal, Kongdi Ri, Karyolang Peak and other surrounding high peaks. We will spend short time at the top, and then continue on our trek with a rather easy downhill descend journey as we approach Tuli Kharka.
Trek from Tuli kharka to Kothe (4182m)Breakfast in the mornning, we leave Tuli Kharka and follow the trail that descends all the way down to Hinku River. After reaching the river bed, we will make a final climb through dense rhododendron filled forest to arrive at Kothe. Kothe is located at the west side of Hinku valley and acknowledged for dense rhododendron forest. In spring the hills are filled with red rhododendron flowers making the area one of the most enchanting spot on planet.
Kothe to Thangnak (4326m)Today our trail goes along the ridge of Hinku river and head towards Gondishung. It is a summer herders settlement. After some time of trekking, our trail passes through Lungsumgba Gompa, which was built almost 200 years ago. Here we can see Mera Peak along with its route scripted in rock a masterpiece of rock carving. From there a rather easy and short trek will lead us to the summer settlement of Thangnak for the overnight stay.
Trek from Thangnak to Khare (5000m)We leaving Thangnak we start to follow the trail that goes over the glacier to reach a Kharka with great views of surrounding high peaks. Our trail is a further ascend through moraines which eventually leads us to the snout of Hinku Nup and Shar Glaciers. From there we climb steeply to reach Khare. From Khare, we can enjoy magnificent view of Northern Face of Mera Peak.
Trek to Mera Base Camp (5300m)Today, we will follow the trail that ascends gradually over to Mera Glacier. Our trail climbs steeply as we trek to the top of the glacier. After some time we begin to traverse along the glacier in order to arrive at Mera Peak Base Camp. As soon as we reach the campsite, our Sherpa crew will quickly set up the camps and make necessary preparations for further trekking towards high camp before the final summit climb of Mera Peak.
Climb to Mera High Camp (5700m)We leave the Base Camp and follow the trial that is often snow covered and slippery. We ascend gradually over to the top of the rock band and head towards Mera Peak High Camp. From our campsite, we will have magnificent views of world’s towering mountains including Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Nuptse and other surrounding high peaks. Once at the campsite, our Sherpa crew will set up the camp and make necessary preparations for the main summit climb, the following day.
Summit Mera Peak (6461m) and descend to Kongma Dingma (4850m)Fully equipped and properly acclimatized we start early and follow the footsteps of our experienced climbing guides. We aim to reach the summit before midday and start to climb up the glacier that leads onto an irregular ridge. From there we climb steeply towards Mera Peak summit. Once at the top we are rewarded with up-close views of Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Nuptse, Chamlang, Baruntse and other surrounding high peaks. We will spend quality time at the summit and then descend following the same route back to Kongma Dingma for our overnight stay.
Reserve Day for ContingencyThere is no guarantee that we will have favorable weather on our planned day for the summit. Therefore, this day is set aside as a contingency in case we are unable to summit the Mera on the desired day due to bad weather conditions or any other unanticipated reason. However, if the trip goes smoothly, this day will not be required.
Khare to Kothe (3600m)We trek from Khare to Kothe along the same trail used previously. After reaching Kothe, we celebrate our success by trying out local delicacies and wines. Overnight in Kothe.
Kothe to Thuli Kharka (4300m)Today we begin our trek to Thuli Kharka after breakfast. We climb up and descend, cross several tributaries of the Inkhu Khola before reaching a forked trail nearby Taktho. We choose the trail on our right and continue walking. Our trail passes by a Chorten after which we walk downhill on a steep trail. Next, we ascend to Thuli Kharka and pass by another Chorten on the way. Overnight in Thuli Kharka.
Thuli Kharla to Lukla via Zatrwa La passWe cross the Zatrwa-La pass at 4600m. As soon as we cross the pass, we are welcomed by the sight of the beautiful Lukla Valley which is surrounded by Cho Oyu, Kongde Peak, Numbur Himal, Kusum Khangru and other Himalayan peaks. From Zatrwa La pass we walk all the way down to Chutang and then straight forward to the Lukla village. In the evening we enjoy dinner in the Himalayas of Nepal with our crew. Overnight in Lukla.
Lukla to Kathmandu flightEarly morning we will take flight to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, we can take a rest or do some souvenir shopping. If we want to explore any other areas of Kathmandu, we may do that today. Our guides can help you with both souvenir shopping or sightseeing. Evening farewell dinner in the evening to celebrate the climbers’ successful summit of the Mera Peak.
Final departureYou will be transfer to airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.

Introduction and Overview
Mera Peak climbing is at the altude of 6461 meters, located form north part of Lukla at Everest Region. It is one of the best adventurous peak climbing trails in Nepal.
